Materials, Technique, and Artistry

Royal Bone China is decorated with German and Italian enamels, fired, finished with gold trim, and then fired again. Although much more labor intensive and time consuming, this "twice-fired" technique produces a much more elegent and refined look. It is characterised by a soft warm petina over the gold trim, which eliminates the garishness of lesser products made with only a single firing.

European gold and enamel paints allows for consistent pigmentation and uniform firing characteristics. This often overlooked aspect of the process helps to ensure that not only is each piece beautiful on initial inspection, but that the colors will last through the years. Additionally, the consistency of the pigmentation is important when ordering replacement pieces for a matched set, should one break.

All materials are certified by their manufacturers as being safe for normal use, and all products should stand up very well to handling. No more care must be taken when handling Benjarong than with handling any other piece of bone china.

Though less intricate, this style is appealing to those who wish to appreciate the quality of the fine bone china, while still enjoying the artisanship of a beautifully hand painted pattern.
